A Sunset in Paris

This LP cover is a tribute to the typeface Antique Olive, a humanist sans-serif typeface designed by French art director Roger Excoffon. The aim of the project was to select a typeface at random and then create a band and an album cover to match the aesthetic of the font, rather than the other way around. Due to the smoothness and roundness of the typeface, the band invented, Catsilou, plays psychedelic rock. The inner sleeve was screen printed and, together with the acetate outer sleeve, it's meant to create a kaleidoscope effect.
